Above: Daniel Negreanu showed real class after his Aussie Millions loss
Hats off to Daniel Negreanu.
The 37-year-old has certainly had his enemies (Annie Duke, anyone?) but nobody can say he's a bad loser.
Most of us sukily storm off after getting kicked out of a tournament, any tournament, especially when it's right on the bubble.
But not Kid Poker.
He let an eye-watering $800,000 slip through his fingers in the Aussie Millions Super High Roller by shoving with A,8 against Patrik Antonius, who promptly turned over jacks.
As Phil Ivey went on to claim the biggest cash of his career and Antonius picked up $1,200,000 just for finishing 2nd, the Canadian walked away empty-handed, with Gus Hansen landing the $800k 'last place' cash in 3rd.
So, the next day, Negreanu got up, had a late breakfast and decided to clear his head by going to the tennis with...Patrik Antonius and his wife Maya.
He joked: "Just seeing Patrik tilts me right now!" as they all settled down to watch the Australian Open men's final between Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal together.
He added:"One of the greatest tennis matches of all time and I'm actually here to see it.
"Wow, what a moment in history I'll never forget."
All that was followed up a few hours later by a heartfelt final Tweet from Australia, thanking the staff at the Crown Melbourne for making his stay so enjoyable.
Blimey.
Say what you like about Negreanu, but the man has class.
