FINNISH poker superstar Patrik Antonius was among the early big name casualties at the Aussie Millions Main Event 2012.
The 31-year-old, who boasts live tournament winnings of $3,375,000, hit the rail at the first hurdle along with Barry Greenstein, Jeff Lisandro, Dan Kelly and a host of other household names.
In total, 84 players saw their dreams of winning the AUD$ 10,600 tourney smashed on Day 1A, with organisers left disappointed that only 153 people registered - a staggering 35% drop on last year.
Aussie Brett Watson had a smile on his face though. He has a clear lead with 257,400 chips - more than 80,000 ahead of Paul Sing and Benjamin Jenkins.
Among the 68 survivors - with an averge chip stack of 67,000 - are Lee Nelson, the charismatic old timer who won here in 2005, Pokerjolt favourite Maria Ho and Super Scot David Vamplew.
Around 200 players are expected for today's Day 1b, including MIA online star Tom Dwan.
