Oliver Speidel has won the Aussie Millions Main Event 2012.
The only local to make the final table won the biggest payday of his life - $1.6m - by beating Kenny Wong.
The 26-year-old looked stunned as his aces held against Wong's nines just 20 minutes into heads-up play.
He said: “Words can’t describe it. I’ve just been incredibly lucky this week.
“It’s almost a joke to me really how lucky I’ve been.
"It keeps amazing me and now to win it all, I don’t know. I don’t know what to say really.”
Earlier, in a surprisingly dominant display, Speidel had eliminated four of the other five players - including previous chip leader Bjorn Li, to amass a 4:1 chip lead by the time heads-up came along.
The new Aussie Millions champion added: "Kenny is a really tough player.
"I’m glad I didn’t really have to make some really hard decisions (against him) because it was over so quickly.”
