Phil Laak has, finally, entered Guinness Book of World Records.
The 38-year-old smashed the record for the longest game of poker ever played when he played Texas Hold'em for 115 hours running in June last year.
But it taken officials almost a year to certify that The Unambomber - who played non-stop at the Bellagio in Las Vegas from 12:04 pm on 2 June to 7:04 am on 7 June 2010, should be recognised.
He now holds the record for the longest 'marathon playing poker by an individual'.
Laak, from San Francisco, said: "It was loads of fun. It would have been impossible without my crew."
It has taken so long for the record to be confirmed that, in the meantime, Laak has won nearly $400,000 in live events, including his first WSOP bracelet.
He triumphed in the £2,500 No Limit Hold'em - Six Handed at the WSOPE at the Empire Casino in Leicester Square in September, despite carrying an arm injury.
