Jonathan Duhamel may have just won $8.9 million and the World Series of Poker Main Event 2010.
But the 23-year-old former strawberry picker is worried he might not be taken seriously by the world's poke elite.
In fact, college dropout Duhamel - who became World Poker Champion when his A♠ J♥ held against John Racener's K♦ 8♦, has said he has "no idea" what he's going to do next - except try and prove his big win was no fluke.
After partying through the night in Las Vegas with friends, Duhamel said yesterday he was already looking forward to returning to the baize.
He said: "I have to prove something to myself.
"The best way to prove it is by just playing a lot, practising a lot, and then be ready if I play a final table.
"That's what I'll try to do."
He added that will probably travel the world playing tournaments representing his sponsor, PokerStars.
Duhamel, who beat 7,319 players to win the WSOP Main Event 2010 added: "I'm just very fortunate to be in the situation that I'm in right now," he said.
Mitch Garber, CEO of Harrah's Interactive, the company that owns the World Series of Poker, said Duhamel's win will make him the most sought-after commodity in the poker world.
"He becomes a legend in poker by winning the main event," Garber said.
"He's going to be a huge draw. Plus he seems to be a likable guy, so I think he's going to carry that bracelet well."![]()
