Jake Cody has won the 2010 World Poker Tour London Main Event and pocketed a whopping £273,783.
The 21-year-old from Rochdale, who plays online under the alias 'neverbluff67’, stormed through a tough final table at Mayfair’s Palm Beach Casino.
It is the former psychology student's second big live win this year following his monster £706,000 win at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Deauville in January.
Cody beat a field of 171 players who had paid the £5,300 buy-in, including poker legend Phil Ivey, over five days to win the title.
Wearing his trademark hoodie, Cody defeated Nichlas Mattson in heads-up when his pocket queens held against his rival's A,Q.
He said afterwards: "I'm so excited. Just overwhelmed. To be honest, it's all a bit much.
"I had a few hiccups but I played well and got some good cards and I managed to take it down.
"This is the biggest month ever for London poker. I'm just happy to have won in the UK."
The win takes Cody's live tournament earnings to over £1 million. His total career earnings, including online cashes, now stand at nearly £1.4million.
As one of the few players to have won an EPT and WPT bracelet Cody - who was a total unknown nine months ago - is now just a WSOP win away from an unlikely 'Triple Crown' .
His next live tournament will be the EPT London at the end of this month.
