The fourth European Poker Tour event of Season 7 gets under way in Vienna next week.
It’s the first time the EPT tour has been back to the Austrian capital since Season 1 in 2004, when Frenchman Pascal Perrault won what was only the sixth ever EPT event, earning €184,500.
This time around the field and prize pool are expected to be substantially greater, with a staggering €500,000 first prize guarantee.
The event will be held in the 19th century Renaissance-style Concord Card Casino at the Kursalon palace in Vienna’s beautiful City Park.
Local pro Johannes Steindl said: "I am really looking forward to playing the EPT Vienna - it's my home town!
"It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
"I’ll be playing my best game to try and take home the €500,000.”
